Accessories | cocktail shaker pestle tumbler – or some other cocktail glas |

If you ask me what my favourite drink is, the answer will definitely be gin – in all of its flavours. Recently I discovered that there are plenty other ways of drinking juniper brandy beside gin tonic. One of this ways is drinking a Gin Basil Smash – a cocktail that combines the herbal basil flavour with the intense taste notes of your favourite gin.
I experimented with my two favourite gins – Monkey 47 and The Botanist – and was very impressed!
Wash basil leafs and add them to the shaker. Add sugar syrup und pound basil leafs shortly to kindle the herbal flavour – don’t pound too long!
Add gin, lemon juice and ice. Shake everything for 30 seconds.
Carefully pour everything in a tumbler (if you have one – unlike me) – add some ice if you like. Add a basil leaf to the glas.
